Serigraph fine art printing is the foundation of Kolibri Art Studios. For over 30 years, master printmaker Sergei Lazutin continues to push Kolibri to be at the forefront of screen printing.

Technical Expertise

Kolibri has printed as few as 4 separate screens and as many 200 screens to complete a serigraph. Master printmakers carefully isolate each color into separate layers. Kolibri works closely with every artist, ensuring the highest quality outcome for every project.

The Art of Creating Art

  • COLOR

    Color is critical to Kolibri’s success. Our studio artists are masters of color separation and color matching to the original artwork. A key challenge is considering how the color will look once it is layered on the print during the screening process.

  • SCREENS

    Kolibri Art Studio uses the highest quality screens to create its award winning artwork. Master printer Sergei Lazutin and his chromists (hand color-separator artist) use black ink on clear acetate to create stencils that will isolate each color from the original artwork to be reproduced on paper, canvas and/or panel. This process takes time and the results are incredible!

  • FINISHING TOUCH

    With our unique combination of equipment and skills, we have the ability to add special touches to a printed fine art edition such as texture brushstrokes, metallic colors, protective uv varnish, and glitters. Kolibri can also apply these techniques to digital giclée prints. The result is a mixed-media fine art print using old world printing techniques and the newest digital technology.
